What Is Palliative and End-of-Life Care?
Palliative care is support for people with life-limiting illnesses. It focuses on managing symptoms, reducing pain, and providing emotional, social, and spiritual support, whether or not the person is still receiving treatment.
End-of-life care is a specific type of palliative care, provided during the last months, weeks, or days of life. It focuses on making sure the person is as comfortable as possible, with dignity and calm, until the very end.
Our team is experienced in both.
Comfort
Gentle Care Here
Hearing that there’s nothing more the hospital can do can feel overwhelming. But there’s still so much that can be done to bring comfort, dignity, and support in the time that matters most. At Careline 24, we help people stay at home during their final months, weeks, or days, surrounded by the people and things they love. With calm, continuous care from a small, familiar team, we’re here to support not only the person receiving care but the whole family too. You don’t need to have all the answers right now. Even if you’re just exploring options, we’re here to talk.
What Support Do We Provide?
Our carers are experienced in palliative and end-of-life care. They work gently and without rushing, offering support that changes with your needs. This can include:
Care can be provided through short daily visits, overnight support, or 24-hour live-in care, depending on what you need.

Can End of Life Care Be Provided at Home?
Home offers comfort and peace during life’s final stage familiar surroundings, loved ones nearby, and cherished routines. Our compassionate carers provide gentle support, ease discomfort, and honour dignity, helping families create meaningful moments together. We adapt care with sensitivity, never forcing, always respecting.

What Does a Day Look Like?
Every day looks different, and we build your care plan around what matters to you. That might mean:
Our carers take the time to do the little things, because at this stage, they’re often the most meaningful.
Who Are Our Carers?
We never use agency staff. Your loved one will be supported by a small, consistent team of local carers from West Sussex (Chichester, Bognor Regis, Littlehampton). All are DBS-checked and trained in autism awareness, sensory needs, and communication. Experience with neurodiversity is essential.
Our carers are patient listeners who learn your family member’s unique triggers, preferences, and joys. As one Littlehampton parent shared: Having the same two carers changed everything. They knew my son’s routines like his morning dinosaur game and what calmed him during meltdowns.
Emotional Support and Family Involvement
When someone is approaching the end of life, families often carry the weight of many worries. You might be asking:
We’re here for you, too. We can take care of the practical tasks so you can focus on just being there. We’ll keep you informed, listen when you need to talk, and step in so you can get some sleep or take a moment to breathe.
Regulated and Trusted
Careline 24 is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and provides fully regulated home care across West Sussex, including Chichester, Bognor Regis, Littlehampton, and surrounding areas.
We have a small, committed care team, no agency staff, which means continuity, familiar faces, and carers who know your story.
We work closely with district nurses, GPs, and palliative teams to make sure everyone is on the same page and that care is seamless.
Why Families Choose Careline 24
Many people prefer to spend their final stage of life at home in their own bed, with their own things, and near the people they love.
At home, we can take things slowly. The person being cared for is in familiar surroundings, with their usual routines, their own clothes, and a sense of peace that can be hard to find in a hospital setting.
We make sure their wishes are known and respected. We help coordinate any clinical care, and we take care of the little details, from a favourite mug by the bed to helping someone sit up to see their garden.
